Elections Committee Questions:

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing the AARC, and what do you recommend to address it?

Observing the changing dynamics occurring at the AARC, has caste a rejuvenating spark of our professional organization. This year, we have made great strides towards rebranding and marketing.

Two opportunities to build on the current work of the AARC:

  1. Increase participation and membership enrollment:
    1. Promoting BOGO and referral program
    2. Continue to promote and highlight the added value membership and what it provides.
  2. Adapting to changing needs of the membership:
    1. Build on the current student program and early career members.
Healthcare is changing more rapidly than ever. What ideas do you have to help today’s respiratory therapist meet these changes?

One area of importance is the safety of our Respiratory Therapists, in both clinical and non-clinical settings. Considering behavioral health has become a nationwide concern, in hospitals, we need to acknowledge that Respiratory Therapists are now faced with such challenges during the care of a patient.

Most of our practitioners understand the “How” and the “What”, while struggling with the “WHY.” We need to help outline and drive the conversation towards the reason behind our actions. It may require using different media or infographics to get the message across.

Redirecting our actions along our values of advancing our profession, by inspiring each other through our collective commitment to support with intentional action of uplifting each member and nonmember of the AARC. Continue to expand on the 2025 strategic roadmap of engagement, elevation, advocating, educating, and organizing.

If given the opportunity to represent your section, what would you do to increase section membership and promote engagement?

Taking on the role of the Leadership and management section chair, should build on:

Catalyst leadership: Lean into the momentum value of the AARC and our new era. Leveraging our resources in promoting and highlighting frontline leaders in making an impact on every stage of service.

Connector: Grow our section’s professional community of leaders with representation at each department or organization level. Continue to extend our leadership management section student ambassador program.

Trustworthy partner for leadership growth and self-realization.

Build on the leadership book of the month journal.
