Long Term Care: Section Chair Gene Gantt updates us on recent meetings with CMS and other groups, announces a boost in membership, and explains why the “2015 and Beyond” presentation at the Summer Forum is meaningful for LTC RTs. Rounding out the issue is a great article on eliminating ventilator-acquired pneumonia.

Management: With part two of our two part story on how to construct a business plan, plus articles on the new generation of consultants, building relationships through manager rounding, and why mergers and partnerships often fail, we have plenty to keep managers reading.

Neonatal-Pediatrics: Spinal muscular atrophy takes center stage in this issue, with an overview of the condition plus a parent’s perspective on living with the disease.

Sleep: Our articles on sleep technology and the electronic medical record and tips on surviving the night shift are both must-reads for sleep professionals. Section Chair Tony Stigall also provides an update on the NBRC’s new SDS exam.

Surface & Air Transport: This issue covers a wealth of topics transport RTs will want to know more about, including a new video on the section web site and how to get your submission accepted for presentation at a local, state, or national meeting. Our latest tutorial to help you sit for the C-NPT exam is in the mix as well, and we even have a short flight physiology quiz that could earn you a prize for the right answers.
