The AARC will be launching a new, online COPD Educator Course in June, and folks who take advantage of the training will learn from more than just the outstanding curriculum.
AARC COO Tom Kallstrom, RRT, FAARC, recently traveled to the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver to videotape three COPD patients talking about what it is like to have the condition—and what they need from their health care professionals to treat it.
The videos will be sprinkled throughout the course to highlight specific areas of care from the patient’s perspective.
All three patients are members of the Colorado Society for Respiratory Care’s patient chapter. The CSRC is the only state society in the nation with a chapter specifically for patients.
The videotaping was covered in this article in the Mar. 30 UCH Insider. Check it out for a preview of what these patients told Kallstrom during the session.
