The Adult Acute Care, Continuing Care/Rehabilitation, Diagnostics, Education, and Home Care Sections have just published the Fall issues of their Bulletins.

Here are your direct links to these informative publications:

  • Adult Acute Care: Section Chair Mike Hewitt urges therapists to look at the current downturn in the economy from a “glass half full” perspective, and we have two great clinical articles—one on acetylcholine and part 3 of our series on carbon monoxide poisoning.

  • Continuing Care/Rehabilitation: An update on the new NCD for pulmonary rehabilitation is the topic of Section Chair Debbie Koehl’s column, and Debbie also shares great tips on educating patients about the H1N1 flu and gives section members three assignments to complete this fall.

  • Diagnostics: Quality assurance in the PFT lab takes center stage here, with a look at QC versus QA and why diagnosticians need to understand the difference.

  • Education: With articles on everything from keeping current in the classroom to bedside wisdom for clinical educators, section members will find plenty of information they can use with their students. And we even have a cartoon that’s sure to lighten up everyone’s day.

  • Home Care: Two RTs who own home care companies share their take on the  challenges facing the industry in Editor Vernon Pertelle’s column, and Section Chair Bob McCoy follows with some creative suggestions for converting those challenges from lemons to lemonade.

The remaining five Specialty Section Bulletins—Long Term Care, Management, Neonatal-Pediatrics, Sleep, and Surface & Air Transport—will publish their Fall editions next month.

If you’ve yet to join one or more of these specialty groups, go to section sign up and add section membership to your overall membership package. You can add section membership any time of the year.
