The Adult Acute Care, Continuing Care/Rehabilitation, Diagnostics, Education, and Home Care Sections have just published the Summer issues of their Bulletins.

Here are your direct links to these informative publications:

Adult Acute Care: We have a great article on rapid sequence intubation, plus part two of our ongoing series on carbon monoxide poisoning. This issue takes a closer look at CO’s affinity for hemoglobin and the mechanisms for toxicity.

Continuing Care/Rehabilitation: Section Chair Debbie Koehl updates us on section activities and also shares her experience getting her patients to participate in an American Lung Association Lung Walk. We also have a great article from a member who hosted a “Pulmonary PlayOffs” during National Pulmonary Rehab Week.

Diagnostics: If you’re thinking about attending this year’s AARC Congress in San Antonio but aren’t sure if there will be much on the program for diagnosticians, Section Chair Melynn Wakeman provides the answer in her Notes column. We also have a great article on new applications for cardiopulmonary exercise testing you can put to work in your labs.

Education: With an update on section activities plus great articles on teaching students to learn, a critical analysis of problem based learning, advanced degrees for RTs, interpreting the ABG, and becoming a new program director, educators will find plenty to keep them reading.

Home Care: Editor Vernon Pertelle updates us on recent lobbying activities while Section Chair Bob McCoy makes the case for seamless respiratory care and the role home care will play in the process.

The remaining five Specialty Section Bulletins—Long Term Care, Management, Neonatal-Pediatrics, Sleep, and Surface & Air Transport—will publish their Summer editions next month.
