New Roundtables Form Around Member Interests

June 20, 2008

You are invited to join the email lists for the following AARC Roundtables:

AARC has formed two new Roundtables, giving members a place to form a community of ideas and suggestions on Military and Moderate Sedation topics.

A Roundtable is a community of members interested in sharing information about a focused topic. The cornerstone of AARC Roundtables is an electronic mailing list that is available for all AARC members to join free of charge. Once joining, you are able to network with other individuals.

David Vines, RRT, has been named as the chair of the Military Roundtable. David is on the faculty of the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

The purpose of the Military Roundtable is to provide a means of communication among the members of the AARC who are currently on active duty, in the reserves, or interested in supporting our members who are.

The Moderate Sedation Roundtable will provide open communication between those performing moderate sedation and those who are interested in starting it. This Roundtable will share policies, procedures, state laws, hospital bylaws, coding issues and whatever else a therapist would want or need to know about this topic. Patricia Resnik, MBA, RRT-NPS, FACHE will chair the group. Resnick is with the Christiana Care Health System in Delaware and is the corporate director of performance improvement.

While the primary focus of the Roundtable is its email list, the group Chair is required to submit reports to the AARC Board of Directors, thus providing a means to bring issues of concern from the group to the forefront of the profession.

Other AARC Roundtables that are available for member participation are:

There is another Roundtable under consideration at this time on hyperbaric medicine. If this interests you, go register your support so that the AARC can consider its formation.
