AARC Members: Important Deadlines on the Horizon!

Every year the AARC and its sister organization, the American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF), present a number of honors and awards to deserving members during the Awards Ceremony at the AARC International Respiratory Congress.
In order to carefully select these individuals, the AARC/ARCF have established nomination/application deadlines well in advance of the meeting, and the remaining deadlines for the 2008 honors and awards are currently looming on the horizon.
If you’d like to apply for an ARCF award or nominate a deserving colleague for recognition from the AARC, here’s the scoop:
Application Deadline: June 16
- ARCF Education Recognition Awards: The four awards in this category are presented to undergraduate students currently enrolled in accredited respiratory care programs. Each award carries a monetary reward, plus a certificate of recognition, airfare, one night’s lodging, and registration for the AARC International Respiratory Congress.
- H. Frederic Helmholz, Jr., MD Educational Research Fund: This award includes support of up to $3,000 for educational or credentialing research, plus a certificate of recognition, airfare, one night’s lodging, and registration for the AARC International Respiratory Congress.
Nomination Deadline: August 31
- AARC Fellows: The “Fellow of the American Association for Respiratory Care” designation is awarded to individuals who have reached a standard of excellence in the practice of respiratory care that extends beyond their individual jobs to a wider sphere of influence.
- Specialty Practitioners of the Year: The AARC Specialty Sections each recognize a member every year who has gone above and beyond in advancing the specialty, either on the job or through his or her work within the section. Use the following links to access the nomination form for each section:
